AutoEncoder in Mentor EDC

AutoEncoder is a utility in the Sitero Mentor EDC that allows a Data Manager to customize coded variables for the data entered by the sites.

Coded data from the AutoEncoder system is included in applicable export files.

Follow the steps below to open AutoEncoder in a new browser tab.

1. Click the tools button (wrench) to display options.
2. Click the AutoEncoder button.
3. The AutoEncoder main screen displays in a new tab; coded variables for your study display in a grid. Prior to adding a coded variable, there are no items in the grid.

Refer to the table below for a description of the buttons and drop-down menu options available on the AutoEncoder screen.

Button/Icon	Description
	Click the arrow to open the menu then click an option to make a selection.  Selections include the option to add MedDRA or WHODRUG coded variable(s) to a form.
	Click this button to Add a MedDRA Coded Variable.
	Click this button to Add a WHODRUG Coded Variable.
	Click an item in the AutoEncoder grid, then click this button to Edit the Coded Variable.
	Click an item in the AutoEncoder grid, then click this button to Delete the Coded Variable.
	Click an item in the AutoEncoder grid, then click this button to Import the Coded Variable.
	Click an item in the AutoEncoder grid, then click this button to configure the Auto Encode function to run on a schedule.
	Click an item in the AutoEncoder grid, then click this button to run the Auto Encode function.
	Click this button to display the Requests grid for information about requests made in your system.
	Click an item in the AutoEncoder grid, then click this button to run the Coding Report.
	Use the buttons in this drop-down menu to manage study dictionaries. Options include Manage and Import features for medDRA and WHODRUG Dictionaries and the option to “Change Root Dictionary” for the study.
	Click this button to save changes after clicking to select or deselect check boxes.
	Click this button to return to the previous screen (Coded Variables Grid).
	Click this button to display the Filters selection dialog box.  Click the “x” icon in the top right corner to close the Filters dialog box.
Exception (check box)	Click in the check box as needed. Use case example:  Click check box to indicate that the term was coded according to the client’s requirement after receiving their feedback.  The Comment field is updated with the reason for Exception.
Verify (check box)	Click in the check box as needed. Use case example:  This box can be checked when the peer review is completed and to track the terms coded by the client during the last review of the coding report.
	Grid Page Navigation buttons allow you to move forward and back through the grid display one page at a time, directly to first or last page of the grid, or jump to a specific page in the grid display.
